Hi everyone! So I wanted to make this updated post for anyone still interested in knowing the basics of Tethican anatomy and some of the culture, without spoiling the GM story world. I felt I should update something GM related, as I finish up these commissions for the month of September. I know it's been a long time since I produced a GM comic page, so hopefully no one has grown tired of waiting for the next page, or tired of the story over all!

GM Nerds and Bullies do it in the fake woods by Axolotl-mafia Galaxy Magnolia Lesson by Axolotl-mafia Galaxy Magnolia quiet study of the local fungus by Axolotl-mafia

Ocelli Iridiphires - The chlorophyll, solar enhanced eye shaped facial markings located above the eyes on pubescent and sexually mature Tethicans, with some iridecent pigment on the tail pad. The facial markings are larger and more pronounced on males, and gradually spread over the face and genitalia. Markings align with the growth structure in the face. In some rare cases, females will have more pronounced facial markings. In such cases the markings don't take away from their femininity, they are simply admired or accepted. If a male cares enough, he can also groom his facial and genitalia markings to his specification, which involves permanent dermal scarring. Such practices have become rare, or near extinct. The last to distinguish such a practice was Loki (pronounced La-Khi), on his chin.

Ocelli Iridiphires are present in ALL five known types of Tethicans, they are the (typically) blue green, irridecent markings located above the eyes, and across the face in geometric styles. Mature Tethicans will have these markings, which consist of plant chlorophyll and iridescent chromatophores. They are grouped specifically, and also subgrouped into subclasses based on their colors and hues, which can vary between families and genetic lines. under white light: xanthophores (yellow), erythrophores (red), iridophores, (reflective, iridescent), leucophores (white), melanophores (black/brown/black blue), and cyanophores (blue). Markings can range in these colors on both males and females, but are much brighter and pronounced in males. The most common colors are iridophores mixed with cyanophores, and occasionally more common erythrophores mixed with xanthophores.  The rarest would be leucophores, and even rarer, melanophores, or mixed together in ombre consistency.

White Leucophores are the markings on the Canopy (back or top) of the tail pad (the Telson) on female Tethicans. They are very shiny, vibrant white and vary in size and shape.

Males have Cyanophores, Melpanophores, Xanthophores, and
Leucophores on the Canopy of their Telson.

Both sexes have cyanophores on the underside of the Telson.

Only males have dermal dentacle spines, which are very strong and sturdy, consisting of keratin. They are much in similar structure to a Tucan beak, though stronger. They are also designed in nature to break off carefully, in the event the Tethican is using the spine as a means  of defense or hunting. Poison glands are located within the Telson on males, and these spines will produce these toxins when threatened.

Tethican poison consists of thousands of microscopic
Nematocysts, which are tiny needles that continue to explode and release toxins into a punctured bodily source. Tethican stings are 99% fatal to humans, and 60% fatal to an Andromadan. To humans, they cause a horribly painful death. The only time the potency of a Tethican's sting is diminished is when they are lacking in critical diet and nutrition to produce adequate venom. Otherwise, if extremely malnourished, or resorting to eating a "human diet", a Tethican's sting will be about as horrible as a nasty jellyfish sting. Anaphylactic reaction and recovery time can vary based on individual humans and their immune systems. It is super rare, that a human could survive a sting, in that it has not yet been documented in human literature, but has a potential, based on Tethican documentation.

A male Tethican cannot kill another Tethican with their toxins, but they can make another pass out with a sting, if the Tethican injected with the venom was experiencing high anxiety, stress, and over all a rush of adrenaline, or adrenaline fatigue. Recovery time can take some time, it leaves a nasty ache in the muscle tissues, and weakness in the legs and tail.

All Tethicans have fur on their tails, though the males have fur that is enhanced with chlorophyll to make it appear green, otherwise the fur is chalk white to snow white. Specific flowers with specific pigments, and brine shrimp can alter the fur color significantly. Generally, because of the amount of chlorophyll consumed on a daily basis, a male's fur color will be green and yellow. The fur on the tail of the female will be the same as the color of her hair, which is typically dark blue, to silver blue, unless she is albino, then the color of the fur will be the same, iridescent white, as on her head. A mature male Tethican will often eat Brineshrimp to change the colors on his Telson. It has no significance other than to demonstrate he's confident, well rounded male. Not all males choose to do this, it depends on their atheistic.

Male Tethicans do not have fur on the Uropods, which are the extra, smaller Telson shaped electric pads on their tail, that will grow and appear typically between the ages of 17 and 24. Uropods produce quite a shock and can disable a human, or kill a weakened human. Females have a stronger shock with their Uropods, to the point it could disable, or kill a male Tethican if potent enough. Females sometimes have fur on their Uropods, where others do not. Those that do, produce a higher shock than females that don't. Females can have anywhere from two, to four Uropods, the amount isn't an atheistic for beauty standards. Males will always have four.

The standard colors and Ocelli on the Telson of a male Tethican range from blues to greens, with some hints of pinks and oranges. Rare colors include the main colors consisting of oranges, pinks, and lavenders. Orange is ultra rare, and recognized as a direct blood line from Type III Tethicans. The Telson will change colors like a cuttlefish based on emotional state of mind, or be totally un-displayed at others, depending on the Tethican and if they're aware of themselves enough in the moment. Otherwise, the colors change naturally on their own. A Tethican who is trying to control expression of their inner thoughts and desires, will have good control over the color changes and won't display them visually. Returning to a calm state will return the Telson colors to the default patterns.

White Out (Telson canopy is completely white, or mostly white) - Fear, pain, depression, illness, lack of all emotion, advanced stages of meditation, during meditation.

Black Out/Mute Flagging (Telson canopy is completely black, or mostly black, with oil spill patterns) Extreme loathing, angry, seeking to kill or destroy.

Light Show (Telson canopy colors are unstable, and changes quickly like Christmas lights) instability, focus, meditation, attracting a mate, tricking, or trapping another species. Being a jerk, teasing, or simply practicing pattern control.

Yellow and Black stripes (Telson Canopy becomes tiger stripped with vibrating yellow and black patterns) Tricking, warning, in younger Tethicans learning to control their color changes, yellow and black may exhibit when a lie is told. This pattern also has other meanings.

Candy Cane (Telson canopy and underside of Telson pad, are vibrant, bright magenta and white, blurred together in candy cane, or oil spill like patterns) Mating, sexual desire, intending to attract a mate or after the mating, seeking further mating. Male Tethicans are fickle, and refuse to show this color display other than to anyone than the one they seek to keep for life. If a male abuses these colors, displaying them often, he's considered selfish and too promiscuous, and won't be tolerated for life mating. Candy Cane colors are often enhanced with the consumption of Brine Shrimp to make the fur around the Telson bright orange, pink or red.

All males and females grow their hair long typically (some exceptions based on personal choice), until they get married. They can choose to keep it long, or cut it then. Keeping the hair long keeps them more in tune with the frequencies of nature, other Tethicans, human beings. After marriage, they will cut the hair shorter, in order to grow a new bond with their life mate. Females don't always cut their hair after marriage, but it's important that a male do so, it signifies many things. He doesn't have to, but it's a sign of extreme love and dedication.

Through the use of the chlorophyll rich
Ocelli Iridiphire markings above their eyes, which act as the beginning sensory points (this ability increases with age) Tethicans are able to sense emotion microcosmically in human beings quite easily without speaking to them, and pick up easily on human chemical reactions to fear, love, anxiety, sexual attraction (this last one one being an advanced recognition to those with prier sexual experience) and other emotions from a short distance away, even if the human is not visually demonstrating any sort of emotion. They pick up subconsciously, though STRONGLY on preserved water memory within humans, which only empathize and enhance chemical emotions in humans. They can also pick up on the the frequency human DNA produces, or are ultra aware subconsciously and consciously to them. Such as with human skin, human skin produces a frequency of 1,000Hz. This can alter easily based on chemical reactions the human brain produces, and body chemistry, and reacts as well with the water consciousness with the human body. Most humans have at least 60% water. All in all, water and chemicals within human beings react together, and Tethicans are easily able to pick up on these readings. As little as a bead of sweat forming on the back of a human's neck, or on their nose from anxiety, its chemical components, along with water consciousness within that human, altering the skin frequency slightly from 1,000Hz will be recognized by the Tethican. This is the key component to why Tethicans are so normally, emotionally involved on cosmic levels with the human species. Because the average human normally cannot pick up on these same sensory capabilities, they typically, do not return the recognition.

Tethicans who neglect drinking or consuming chlorophyll, or consuming adequate Tethican diet, will not exhibit these markings, or exhibit them brightly. These markings are greatly needed in order to access micocosmic sensory. The chlorophyll plant, living cells within their skin act as an antenna to read human and water chemistry. Microcosmic sensory is a key element in stable mental health, connection with other Tethicans, and over all emotional well being. Tethicans who neglect consuming chlorophyll, and allow their markings  to fade can or will experience anxiety, depression, temperament issues, and in some cases, mania.

Example of microcosmic sensory -

Females are smaller in size than males, but in some cases can be just as tall. In the rare event the female is very tall, or compares in height with a male, she is considered an "artifact" within the DNA bloodline, directly descended from Type III Tethicans, and highly sought after for marriage by a Type I male. There is a higher chance she will produce female offspring over males.

Average height for Type I male Tethicans - 7'5" to 7'6"
Tall, and more uncommon heights for male Tethicans - 7'8 to 9'0"
Short stature for male Tethicans - 6'0"

Average height for Type I female Tethicans - 5'10" to 6'6"
Tall and more uncommon heights for female Tethicans - 6'8" to 7'6"
Short  stature for female Tethicans 5'5" and anything shorter

Body types can vary slightly, but because of their constantly metabolism, most remain at a healthy weight. Because of the chlorophyll in their bodies with the chlorophyll effect from drinking chlorophyll nearly with every meal (normally) they are high strung, high energy, and will usually involve themselves in some form of physical activity every single day. Running, jogging, swimming, playing sports, basic exercise, or weight lifting. To those who are high strung high energy, if they cannot exert this energy, they can become restless, depressed, sometimes aggressive. The higher the energy the individual has, the  more toned and muscular they will be, because guaranteed they are exerting the energy in some way.

Females have breasts, males also have nipples, because as with the female and with human babies, they both first form as female first during gestation. Females are pregnant for 11 months. Females can give birth to singles, twins, triplets. In the modern story timeline of Galaxy Magnolia, 1 female will be born to every 100 males. Females are very rare.

Males and females begin to develop Ocelli Iridiphires during puberty, which happens in their early teens. They do not reach sexual maturity until after the age of 17, and it continues into their 20's. Both male and female Tethicans can be heterosexual, homosexual, bisexual, or asexual. Most seek mating to produce children. Promiscuity is looked down on, or seen as rebellious.

Tethicans are life long monogamous, and very loyal to their mates. Excepts to this are only if a female chooses a female lover, or a male chooses a male lover before they are married to partner they can produce offspring with. The individual will stay with both mates, the third, will not mate with the first lover. A mated Tethican pare will never normally, leave one they have married, mated with, and produced offspring. Such cases call for a trauma, or a rift in the relationship that was considered "unforgivable".

Males will force a female into marriage. If she had a relationship with a female before he forces the relationship, it is up to him if he allows her to continue it with the first lover. Most males will not forbid the relationship, out of fear of their mate passing away from grief. Their dwindling species depends on the production of offspring, and over all the well being and health of the female Tethican. ALL Tethican, males and females love children and want children, and aren't apposed to raising children. Children are rare.

Tethicans live roughly 150 to 175 years on average without the use of synthetic encouragement. If they have the means, they can extend their life significantly, and repair their physical bodies with sonic DNA repair technology. They also have the technology to enhance the age, youthful health and longevity in humans as well, and other animals. Tethicans live a long time because of the Blue Particle Emission cells within their blood, that protect their DNA from radiation break down. These cells also help produce and enhance the blue coloring in their skin.

Skin color will range from pitch blue black, to dark blue black, to very light blue violet and light lavender. In some cases, more greenish blue than others, in ultra rare cases, white albino, and lavender albino. Albinism appears in Tethicans because it means their skin pigment, organs, hair, and eyes are saturated with

leucophores, and no other pigments, other than the blue particle emmission cells which are saturated with the leucophores. When blushing, all Tethicans will produce a greenish hue on their cheeks from the chlorophyll build up.

Blood is blue because of Blue Particle Emission cells, which help break down radiation at an extremely rapid pace. Some Tethicans will have bluer blood than others, almost blue black, while others lighter. It depends on their genetic line.

That's all for now, if you think of questions and I can answer, I can add the answer to the list =D

EDIT #2

Everyone who has commented so far with a reference, has a spot designated for their character, this page seriously has SO MUCH interaction going on with over 100 something characters, and is taking me a long time to draw out! For everyone else, you still have time to participate, please link your reference, or you won't be included of course! ;). Just follow the rules listed, thanks!

End Edit.

Get your entries in! Please follow the rules below! <3 I'm drawing cameos right now, there is room for between 70 and 100 cameos on the next two pages. Pages after will also have cameos. So please get your references in if you would like to participate.

Edit: Sorry everyone, I haven't had time to reply to everyone yet but if you're still commenting at this point in the journal, it means I'm accepting your character application for a cameo appearance, so long as it meets within the rules listed below. Please feel free to anyone else who would like to enter, to do so! I'm going to do my best to accept everyone =).

End Edit

:star: Hi everyone, it's been a while since I wrote a journal I suppose =D. Call to all those who love Galaxy Magnolia and following along with the story . Well I want to say that everyone who participated in the free cameo appearance before is ALSO going to have an opportunity to again if you want to include your character in Galaxy Magnolia, as a student. The only stipulations would be that it would have to be the same character, and the clothes need to be different. So you can either let me design an outfit for them, or you can design one =). Also, the character has to be human. Everyone following me can participate!

:bulletgreen: One thing here too: IF your character appeared, but they were wearing scarf colors from ANOTHER academy, but BECAUSE I had drawn your character before, I will draw ANOTHER one of your characters, but who would be going to Wormwood. I don't want to draw a character from before, wearing an Alpha-Cancri scarf suddenly showing up at Wormwood P:. So that's the exception to me drawing a different character for you =).

:star: Everyone who participated in the contest I did a few months back and submitted clothing designs for Ruga and Nim, I will also include a character of yours. I feel really horrible that I had to drop the contest, and yet several very nice people participated and submitted work. So please leave a comment if you did and I will include a cameo for you =). Please let me make it up to you. I don't remember all who entered right now, it's been too long and I'm very sorry for that .

:star: AND I would like to draw other characters as well! I don't know yet how many I'm going to need, but I know it's going to be a lot. There are big group scenes coming up and an assembly. I have plenty of my own background characters to include, so this is a small way of me of giving back to the supporters who have been so gracious to me and my Galaxy Magnolia project. I seriously love you guys, for all the constructive criticism, the laughs, the understanding and the appreciation for the detail I put into the pages and characters . I hardly have enough time these days to draw anything else and I just really want to draw for other people given the chance. Let me give back by drawing your character for you in my book, as a Wormwood Student .

I need to go back and tone down some of the lighting on these pages, edit the panels and change the font and speech bubbles :faint:. I had just gotten a new screen back then for my laptop and yeah... The calibration took FOREVER and I could hardly see on it. It was horrible. Thanks for your patience .

Galaxy Magnolia Book 1 Page 51 by Axolotl-mafia Galaxy Magnolia Book 1 Page 52 by Axolotl-mafia

:bulletgreen:RULES TO PARTICIPATE:bulletgreen:

1) You must be watching me. No exceptions, and must comment in this journal to let me know that you are interested, with links to drawings or descriptions of your character.
2) New people can enter, you just have to be watching me and have been following along with Galaxy Magnolia/know the characters. There is no limit on people currently, so don't feel rushed =). Just participate!
3) Above comments mentioned must apply.
4) Character MUST be human, or converted into a human. Link a drawing of your character in the comments section, I need a visual, OR you can link a description, or link a commissioned image from someone else. I will work with you based on the description the best I can =). Only ONE character per person -unless rule applies to add a Wormwood character instead from an Alpha-Cancri participant only.
5) Must be supporting the comic, meaning, you must be a reader and know the characters. NO Patreon support required here, this is for everybody enjoying Galaxy Magnolia! In other words, FREE =D.
6) This book will be published, and you agree to that =D
7) This is a hate free zone, nothing negative!
8) This rule kind of contradicts the above one, but anyway... Don't get offended if Ruga is an asshole to your character. Who knows, they might interact or have to deal with his wrath in a group setting.
9) Please don't send me a private note about this. My private note inbox has 600 messages sitting in it and I'm too overwhelmed to check it. Please just comment here, or the note will go unread.

That's it so far, if I think of anything else, I will add it. This WILL take me a while to get to, but I'm preparing in advance because I need to for storyboarding. So please be patient with me =), I will do my best. I also don't know yet if I can use everyone's character who participates, I don't know yet how many people are going to enter. There's no limit at this time however. Thanks guys!

I am in desperate need of advice.

Along with the comic, I am also thinking about publishing the typed scripts to illustrated paperbacks. I don't  have time right now to focus a lot on it but if I can get some help, and a plan together, I will do it as time permits me to commit. That's the thing,  I need help because I just don't know what to do. I have a wonderful publisher, Angry Viking Press for my comic but I don't have a plan of action concerning publishing the scripts. I can self publish but you don't see scripts up on shelves. You see novels. I can find a publisher who would be open to allowing the comic to continue with my comic publisher without all the mumbo jumbo, because that is an absolute necessity. However there again, you don't see scripts up on shelves. You see novels as I stated. I don't know if I should format the books into novels or what I should do. What is it that I should do?

Basically, if you have any advice or resources, I really could use all the help I can get. For the love and work that I put into the scripts, I have to do this.

I also need help heavily editing grammar and punctuation etc in the books. Please help me figure out paperback options, and what format I should go with. If you think scripts can be published, if I should format into novels, or any other ideas. If you could please leave it in a comment below, please do not note me. My private note box is absolutely saturated with 131 messages, and every time I log into DA I get anxiety about it public comments are so much easier for me to reply to. Just so many people asking about those books... Well the answer to that is in this journal.

when I finish the 5th book (I'm sorry it is taking so long) I will release them for a limited time, and I will figure out then how I will do that. A lot of people are asking me for the other books.... I don't want to disappoint anyone anymore. I don't know how yet I will release them, other than that people have to have read the first books, comment to request the 5th, and they absolutely must leave a good chunk of feedback after they've read the book. For anyone who doesn't leave feedback, will not be given access to the 6th book.

Thank you for any and all help.

Edit: I'll respond to comments as soon as I can, I've been taking every second of free time that I can today to work on page 69, SO HAPPY my tablet is working again =D! It's not working 100% and takes a while to even register that it's connected, but at least it's functional enough to help me get my work done. The page is almost finished, so happy about that as well. It has 11 panels quite a lot to get through =).

End Edit

Everything was going great. Then one of my cats decided to be an asshole last night and took a big barf on my Wacom tablet, while I was sleeping. So I couldn't immediately tend to it, and thus it had to sit like that all night in that condition. Guess who's tablet doesn't work now. I've taken it apart and tried to dry it out with the heater and a hair dryer and nothing's working. It seems to also be permanently set now on the touch feature, which I always turn off and that just makes everything more screwy. So I am trying to buy another tablet right now, why do these things always have to be so expensive. It's not like I can afford this right now. I was almost finished with the next page of Galaxy Magnolia, page 69. Every time I have to take a pause with my artwork for a few days it greatly effects my drawing ability. I try to draw every day, even if it's just a few lines at least it's something. I'm not one of those clever artists who manages well after a dry spell. So needless to say, I'm a bit depressed, but this too will pass. Hopefully I can find a tablet within a reasonable price, with reasonable overnight shipping.

Which one of you assholes were responsible for the barfening.
